I had a recover lost code experience similar to this a couple of weeks ago. In my case the VM crashed and when it rebooted the mount was missing, which made it look like the folder I had been working was empty. Claude recovered almost everything from logs (great, but a bit scary) before I realised everything was still there on the host.
